Firing program for FULL fusing of float glass |
1. to 500°C - 60 minutes |
2. 500°C to 850°C - 0 minutes |
3. Hold at 850°C - 20 minutes |
4. Cool down 850°C to 580°C - 0 minutes |
5. Hold at 580°C - 20 minutes |
6. Cool down 580°C to 520°C - 0 minutes (for lead-free colours) 6. Cool down 580°C to 500°C - 0 minutes (for lead colours) |
7. Hold at 520°C - 20 minutes (for lead-free colours) задръжка на 500°C - 20 minutes (for lead colours) |
8. Kiln is swithched off and let to cool down naturaly to room temperature |
Note: "0 minutes" means as fast as possible |
Important: All above mentioned numbers are reffered for a glass sheet with weight of 500 grams with "normal" quantity applied colour. If the glass sheet is heavier, you must change the HOLD time, not the TEMPERATURE. Example: If the glass sheet weights 250 grams - each hold time is 10 minutes Example: If the glass sheet weights 750 grams - each hold time is 30 minutes Example: If the glass sheet weights 1000 grams - each hold time is 40 minutes |
To avoid DEVITRIFICATION it is recommended during the firing/cooling the temperature range between 600 - 700°C to be as short as possible. Devitrification can also occur if the hold time at the highest temperature is too long. Anyway if devitrification occurs it is recommended the use GLASS GLAZE. |
Make sure the kiln has cooled completely before opening! |
The above fusing program is INDICATIVE and it is not a guarantee for perfect results!!! |
